Sacred Hearts Church - Westbury-on-Trym

Client: Diocese of Clifton / Project Value 90k

“Reversing the effects of weather and theft on a much-loved Bristol church.”

Roof repairs and weatherproofing on a Bristol church to stop water ingress where lead flashing had been stolen and roof covering had deteriorated.

Works and Challenges

Lead was replaced, new roof covering were installed and existing metal-framed windows were replaced due to their irreparable corrosion. The Nave was decorated throughout, requiring careful protection of the church organ as well as removal and reposition of the pews.

All works were completed during the week. Before each weekend the pews were reinstated, all protection was removed and the church interior was left clean and tidy so Sunday services could continue through the contract.
